Spine Surgery in Turkey: Process and Cost

If you are considering Turkey for spine surgery from abroad, understanding how the process works makes your decision easier. By sharing your MRI images you can receive a free remote pre-assessment, and then we can plan travel and treatment together. This page does not give a fixed price list, because the cost depends on the case, the technique and your needs — a tailored quote becomes clear after the assessment.

How the Treatment Process Works

For most patients the process starts remotely: you share your MRI images and existing reports, your situation is reviewed, and we discuss whether surgery is genuinely necessary. Not every herniated disc needs an operation. If surgery is appropriate, the technique (endoscopic discectomy, UBE, microsurgery or fusion), the estimated hospital time and aftercare are planned together. Your travel is organised only after the plan is clear.

Why Turkey?

Turkey is a frequently chosen destination for spine surgery thanks to internationally accredited hospitals (for example JCI), experienced surgical teams and modern endoscopic infrastructure. Assoc. Prof. Özgür Akşan's 19 years of specialist experience, his expertise in minimally invasive (endoscopic) techniques and multilingual patient support are among the factors that support this choice. The goal is not a quick sale but an accurate diagnosis and a realistic plan.

Remote Pre-Assessment

The first step is always reviewing imaging and reports. Sharing your MRI and any previous operative reports is enough for an initial assessment of your situation. This pre-assessment is free and commits you to nothing. After the review, an honest opinion is shared on whether surgery is needed, the suitable technique and the process.

How the Cost Is Determined

The cost of spine surgery is not a single fixed figure; it depends on the technique used, the implants and consumables, the type of anaesthesia, the hospital and room choice and the length of hospital stay. For this reason, rather than publishing a fixed online price list, we prefer to offer a tailored and transparent quote. The quote becomes clear after the pre-assessment is complete; at no stage are guarantees or promises of a certain outcome given.

Travel and Accommodation

Once the treatment plan is clear, the practicalities of travel and accommodation are discussed together: the estimated hospital time, the recommended wait before flying after surgery, and follow-up visits. A multilingual support team helps you with appointments and communication. Practical matters such as a companion and local transport are also included in the plan.

FAQ

Can I learn the exact price now?

We do not give a fixed list price, because the cost depends on the technique, implants and your needs. If you share your MRI, we provide a tailored, transparent quote after a free pre-assessment.

Can an assessment be done before I travel to Turkey?

Yes. For most patients the process starts remotely. Sharing your MRI images and reports is enough for an initial pre-assessment; travel is considered only after the plan is clear.

Does every spine complaint require surgery?

No. Not every herniated disc or spinal complaint requires surgery. In some cases a conservative approach is sufficient. That is why the first step is an honest assessment.

Is the outcome guaranteed?

No. Outcomes are never guaranteed in medicine. Every plan is individual and is discussed openly, with realistic expectations.
